The core of Dimensional Imaging’s approach to 3D and 4D surface image capture is its world leading DI3D™ stereo photogrammetry software. DI3D™ processes automatically a stereo pair of images (with associated camera calibration data) to create a dense and accurate range map. A range map is a highly efficient image-like structure for storing dense 3D data, in which every pixel in the range map image represents the 3D position of that pixel in space. DI3D™ is therefore capable of calculating the 3D position for every pixel in the input image: up to 10 million points or more depending on the resolution of the cameras used.
